Hello dear friends, how are you? Welcome back!!! As we delve into the intricacies of the "English for Common Interactions in the Workplace" course on Coursera, the journey unfolds as a pivotal step toward mastering the art of professional communication. Join me on this recap journey as we revisit the key lessons learned and insights gained during the initial weeks of the course.
Whether you're a seasoned professional looking to refine your communication prowess or a newcomer navigating the complexities of workplace discourse, this recap aims to provide valuable takeaways that resonate with every participant.
Let's unravel the threads of effective workplace communication and discover how these foundational weeks set the stage for a transformative learning experience. Together, we'll decode the language of success in the professional world.
Week 1 is just Introduction of English for Common Interactions in the Workplace, introducing the course content. Each module comes with two classes and each class contains a set of components. Videos are shown with model situations, classes, Interaction Simulation, Comprehension Strategy Session which is equipped with Reading Comprehension and Listening Comprehension. Each module contains a module test, which focuses on the content covered in a particular section. There is a final module exam every week. Which makes it possible to evaluate understanding of the material covered throughout the course.
In week 2, teaching material begins to be presented. A learning practice video is presented about introducing oneself to colleagues, greetings someone in different situations, as well as the interactions conveyed. Also teaches Grammar: Present Simple - To Verb To Be, To be long and short form, negative form, interrogative form.
Last week 3, I learned to make and receive basic telephone calls that commonly occur in a professional environment using the grammatical structures associated with them. Additionally, I acquired language-related vocabulary that was useful for making phone calls. Through designed activities you can develop and improve listening skills in English. In this situation model, a learning video explains how to respond when receiving an official telephone call, leave a voicemail, and answer a voicemail.
Next, the class video. Two materials are presented, such as, Vocabulary Focus: Telephone expressions, which are how to answer the telephone formally and informally. To answer the telephone formally, we say, "Good morning" or "Good afternoon," depending on the time of day, then say the name of the organization, then identify ourselves by saying "this is" and "your name." If it's informal we just say "hello?"
Conclusion, I am very happy to find out about this course website. This course is good enough for those of you who want any course. Although some are free and have to be prepaid. Coursera also prepares certificates for those of you who complete the course each week.
