(Model Situation 2: A typical day at work)

(Comprehension Strategy Session - Reading: Skimming)

This learning video explains how to develop reading skills, with several advanced reading strategies. This strategy is for understanding the general idea of the text, not the specific details. To skim, we read the text quickly and identify key words or phrases Keywords are words that provide the main ideas in a text. There's no need to read every word or understand everything in the text, just the main idea.

Hey, back with me Agustine Sekar. Today I did an assignment from Duolingo. What is Duolingo? Have you ever used Duolingo? Duolingo is a free language learning app created by Luis von Ahn and Severin Hacker. Apart from being available in the web version, this application is also available in the Android and iOS versions. Duolingo is a language learning application, many languages. You can learn English, Korean, Japanese, Indonesian, French, Arabic and many more languages.

Here I learn English, many features are provided. Such as learning vowels and consonants, and section games. There are 6 parts. Here I am working on Part 1 Unit 4. In this Unit I learned about "Expressing ownership, using object pronouns"
For example :
  • The soup is not mine
  • The juice is yours
  • I read him a newspaper
  • The dog eats it

I've been using Duolingo as my English learning practice for a long time. In my opinion, because the advantage of this application is that it is free, learning to use Duolingo is really fun because it is packed with cute animations and characters.

Are you interested in Duolingo?
